  1. i have tried a ridiculous amount of ways to get this done, been going at it for weeks. finally this video showed it without beating around the bush or leading to some bullshit malware download. thanks man keep up the good work

  2. I have an iphone 5 with ios 7 and I get this error (itunes is restoring & updating to 6.1.4, no idea why it doesn't find ios 7). my hosts file is clean of gs.apple.com but I still get the 3194 error when trying to restore in dfu mode. any idea?

  3. In the bottom right corner you have to change it to view all – LOOK AT THE VIDEO – MINUTE 1:06 – i drop down the menu and go to all files so that I can see the HOSTS 🙂

Update iTunes – Then restart your computer – and then try again – if that still doesn't allow it to go through – try to put it in DFU mode – I have a link to my DFU video also at the beginning of this video

  4. Are you trying to restore to a specific firmware? If so then that is probably why you are getting the error – also NOTE – you must close iTunes and reopen after deleting the info in the hosts file – if you are still having trouble try updating iTunes – reboot your computer and make sure you are restoring to newest update.

    Thanks

  5. Close iTunes and re open after you save the host file with gs.apple cleared out – You are doing an update to thew newest firmware – you should not get that error if that is what you are doing.

  6. Heck yea!!! Every other vid to fix this prob was like wtf and u have show it done for real and real easy and it worked for me the first time!!! Man so relieved its done thanks
